The first among the myth songs from the Singing Hill ~Ar=Ciel Ar=Dor~ album, this tells a myth famous in the region of Sol Cluster: the story of Raikokubishi, also known by the human name Sieryek.
He was the eldest son of the God Koudeinomikoto, who was sent by his father to the land in order to save El Duel from their enemy nation, El Nemesys, in exchange for the life of the princess of El Duel. However, once he descended, he ended being born as the son for one of the El Nemesys ministers and forgetting the mission he was given.
He was raised during 15 years to be a great warrior, and thanks to his abilities and intellect, he was appointed to be prime minister when he reached this age. He also fell in love with Princess Liarsha, who was the third daughter to the king of El Nemesys. However, he remembered his mission when he turned 15-years old and was forced to carry it out.
On a single night, he killed the king of El Nemesys and all of its sovereigns, including the father that had raised him as a human. Despite this, he couldn't bring himself to kill Liarsha and allowed her to escape. Later on, Sieryek was received in El Duel as a hero and was awarded the highest honors that anyone could have wished. Still, he wanted to see Liarsha once again, so he returned to El Nemesys to find her. When he reached the top of the tower in which they both spent so many happy days, he found Liarsha, who promptly stabbed him with a dagger, instantly killing him. Then, she embraced Sieryek's corpse and threw up herself with him from the tower, ending her own life for them to be together in the afterlife, where no wars or conflicts existed.

Story Told in This Song[]
The emperor of the imperial capital, El Duel, which had managed to unify most of Sol Cluster, was very restless. They were in a war with the neighboring country of El Nemesys and their numbers were dwindling more and more with each day. Both countries had treated each other as old enemies during various centuries.
Despite being neighboring countries, they had great differences when it came to their religious beliefs, and since they were unable to reach an agreement on this, they became fateful adversaries. And now, El Nemesys had inexplicably gained a great power.
While they had the greatest territories and power in Sol Cluster, and were superior to El Nemesys in every aspect, El Duel had no chance against them. Their inferior numbers had caused great losses to El Duel in just a few decades, and if things continued this same way, in a few years El Nemesys would have occupied even the imperial capital itself.
According to rumors, El Nemesys had obtained the powers of its heretical God and were using them to its fullest.
So the Emperor of the time, Resshikou, prayed this to the Gods: "Please, help us to protect Your Holy Lands and expel the heretics".
Every day, every morning and every night, he offered this prayer to the Gods.
And then, one of the Gods who looked at him from the Heavens, Koudeinomikoto, thought that He would something to help this devout believer. He gave a divine oracle to Resshikou: in exchange for the sacrifice of his own daughter,
he promised to send one of His own children to the very center of El Nemesys with the mission of destroying it from the inside. Thus, Koudeinomikoto sent his eldest son, Raikokubishi to the surface of the land.
Raikokubishi was born as a child called Sieryek, belonging to one of the most ambitious families in El Nemesys, although he forgot his mission once he descended, and thus he was quickly raised by the head of that family, called Lugai.
Lugai gave Sieryek every single piece of knowledge and training that could have some use during a battle, which gave him a great reputation based on the great renown his son gained, and this allowed him to gain greater political power.
Maybe it was because of his instruction, maybe it was an innate talent, but Sieryek surpassed by far all of Lugai's expectations as he grew.
Furthermore, every time a martial arts tournament was held, he continued to be crowned as a champion, and it was even said that once Sieryek went to fight for real, his squad would surely get an excellent record. He even proposed many strategies with such an accurate judgment in the tactical meetings that he led many troops to victory.
Soon enough, rumors began circulating about the king of El Nemesys selecting Sieryek to be the next prime minister, a fact about which Lugai couldn't be any more proud.
And springtime also came to Sieryek during these times because he fell in love with the third daughter of the king of El Nemesys: Princess Liarsha. She was a very lively princess, so much that many of the suitors that came to ask for marriage with her were perplexed to see how tomboyish she was. And since she also was the third in the succession line, she wasn't expected to be the successor to the king.
It was in this environment that she was raised, so she became interested in martial arts, and although she was a princess, she didn't have any problems in going to the battlefield personally. She had such a great ability that it was said she even had managed to surpass the god of martial arts himself.
But honestly speaking, she didn't even reach the level in which she would be able to break the arms of ordinary soldiers and knights.
Thus, it was natural that she recognized Sieryek as superior once she met him.
Likewise, it was also natural that he held Liarsha's interest. They trained together, and every day they went out to the battlefield, they boasted together of their achievements. And likewise, they carried out the achievements they boasted to the end. Thus, for a couple like this, it didn't take much time before they became very close friends.
A short time after all this, a brief time of peace came to the land. The war with the country of El Duel was finally reaching its conclusion, with El Nemesys seeming like the most likely victor, and furthermore, no matter what kind of futile resistance El Duel tried to put up, they would have to continue accepting the conditions that El Nemesys put over them.
This surprised even the populace of El Nemesys, since a peaceful atmosphere filled all of them, one that they hadn't felt in many years, and the streets filled with liveliness.
During these calmed times, Liarsha and Sieryek went out to various places in complete secrecy. The castle had very solid defenses, but if the two of them were together, it was like these defenses didn't even exist. Within the town, they were no different from any other couple of lovebirds.
In there, things like social status, situation or authority didn't exist. That was the only world for the both of them....
And among them, there was a special place that became their favorite: a tall tower called the Octagonal Turret. Once anyone had climbed this tower, they would be treated to a magnificent view of the entire city. They saw the world from there as if they were flying in the skies.
And in this place, they felt like they could have all of the world in their hands. It was in there that they exchanged their love vows and sealed them with a kiss.
However, a fateful time came for this lovely couple. This was when Sieryek's 15th birthday finally arrived.
On that day, Liarsha brought a present for Sieryek and waited for him in the place they had agreed on.
However, no matter how much she waited, Sieryek didn't come. Given that something like this never had happened before, Liarsha got very worried. And since she couldn't go to Sieryek's house because of her social position, she got even more worried.
On the other hand, Sieryek had received a large shock during that time. It was on this very day, on his 15th birthday, that he had finally remembered about his true name and his mission...
Sieryek was actually a demigod called Raikokubishi and he was sent by his godly Father to this land to accomplish a mission.
Said mission was to destroy this country of El Nemesys from the inside. However, during the fifteen years he had lived here, a great love had sprouted for the land he was supposed to destroy.
Because of this, Sieryek was greatly worried. Filled with a worry large enough to pull and rip apart his heart, he swung his sword around and continuously struck the ground with it.
And then, he disappeared. Lugai got worried since Sieryek didn't return home and ordered one of his retainers to search for his missing son.
Sieryek was on a cliff looking at the ocean.
He had always fought alone.
But the first person to find him was Liarsha, her feelings for him having led her to his side.
Sieryek was extremely surprised, but since Liarsha came to him and embraced him, he received her in silence.
Liarsha was very worried, and as she embraced him, she cried bitterly on Sieryek's chest.
Sieryek's eyes darkened at once, and as he looked at Liarsha, he whispered:
"No matter what might happen from now on, you're the only person I'll never harm..."
Liarsha was surprised at this abrupt utterance, but since Sieryek immediately returned to his normal, kind smile, her heart was calmed.
Then, both of them returned to the city together. However, within his eyes, a feeling of determination had already taken possession of him.
Soon after, not even half a year after these events, Sieryek was appointed as the prime minister of El Nemesys. Since none of the other candidates were as cultured or as great a fighter as Sieryek was, no one had any objection about this 15-year old becoming the new prime minister.
Lugai was even more proud of this, since now their family had become the most powerful in El Nemesys next to the royal family. But despite these happy developments, Liarsha had a strange uneasiness, and the reason for it was very simple. It was because Sieryek's eyes now looked like the eyes of a completely different person.
On that day, when she found Sieryek on that cliff overlooking the ocean, his eyes had changed and that continued stirring her heart until this day.
And then that uneasiness turned into reality.
On a certain night, the king of El Nemesys summoned Sieryek, intending to privately discuss with him about what measures could be taken to further expand the country from that time on.
And at that time it was that Sieryek finally began acting. On such a calm night like this, it was extremely easy for him to murder the king, and the soldiers who rushed into the scene after this were beheaded as if they were made of paper.
The commotion that this triggered in the castle quickly reached the ears of both Liarsha and Lugai. Lugai rushed into the chambers of the king at once, but it was all colored in blood when he arrived. Despite all the achievements he had gained, he immediately felt that he had lost his only son.
Killing one of your blood relatives is a crime deserving capital punishment... that was natural in this country. However, at this time, feelings like being blood relatives had already disappeared from both of their minds. Both parent and child fought, trying to kill each other. However, the feelings of a father for his children were what decided the outcome of this battle.
Because Lugai hesitated for a single instant, the battle ended with his throat being ripped apart.
Before Sieryek noticed, there was not even a single person in the castle. Not even one of the sovereigns that used to lead this country remained anymore.
However, at this time, Sieryek had lied to himself. Only one room remained. He had overlooked a single room on purpose.
The news of this incident reached all of the neighboring countries overnight.
And once the Emperor of El Duel, Resshikou, heard about this, he immediately sent his great army, and in only one night he annexed the territories of El Nemesys into his own kingdom.
Sieryek was received in El Duel as the child of a God and was given by its people the largest praises and rewards that anyone could have dreamed of.
However, this didn't satisfy him. He couldn't avoid being worried for his beloved Liarsha after this all had ended.
This reached the point were he couldn't settle down anymore, so ignoring the thoughts that told him this would be dangerous, he hid himself and left for his homeland of El Nemesys.
All of the city was now covered in the colors of El Duel. Just a few vestiges of the old days remained now. And he was unable to find even a single clue related to Liarsha's whereabouts.
Sieryek was perplexed and thus decided to head to the place where most of his memories with Liarsha were made... and climbed the Octagonal Turret.
Despite who knows how many years had passed since the last time, the scenery on the top didn't look any different from back then. If he could go back to these times... to before his 15th birthday... to before his memories as Raikokubishi had resurfaced, who knows how happy he could have been...
Sieryek was so astonished that he didn't even try to hide, because Liarsha was right here. It wasn't a dream, she really was right before him.
Liarsha was alive, she spent all of the post-war period hiding from the search parties of El Duel, and was now here!
However, at the next instant, all the fairytale-like qualities of this encounter ended. All of the world got distorted, spiraled around him, and went far, far away, as it crumbled away into darkness.
Something under his feet made a sound similar to that of water, and Liarsha gently whispered this on his ears:
"You have taken away everything from me. So now, I'll take away everything you have. I'll make you all mine..."
Her hands were all colored in bright red, and as he looked at the sword that beautifully shone in the setting sun and pierced through his body, Sieryek resigned to his fate. Then, Liarsha embraced him, and like this, she leapt from the Octagonal Turret.
All of the resentment she had at that moment cleared away, as they would be together forever.
Thus, Sieryek, the child of a God, was killed by his beloved Princess Liarsha.
Then, she committed suicide, so their lives would end together. To Liarsha, Sieryek was the very person who took away all her happiness.
But at the same time, she loved him as much as she hated him. She actually just wished to be together with him forever in the world of the afterlife, in which there wouldn't be any wars.
About The Story[]
This story seems to be singing about blighted love between a man and a woman, but actually, it also has a true meaning hidden on its underside. Rather, this was because to the people of Sol Cluster, the creators of this myth, had a culture that could only feel that "true meaning". Said true meaning is the following:
"Don't allow yourself to be absorbed by the affairs of love and you must be strictly honest to yourself and others everyday, and be as devout as possible".
Also, during the the times in which this myth was created, the Gods (Wills of the Planet) were normally perceived as eternal companions to the humans, so maybe because of this it was that graciously, this was made as a myth with the persuasive theme of "even to the Gods, the truth is unchangeable".
Syerek was a God, but despite this, his final fate was death because of having abandoned his mission. In other words, "Don't act like a fool and do indecent things, you ought to be a person that diligently works and fights", which is itself what makes this story the most popular myth in Sol Cluster due to being the embodiment of the stalwart spirit of its people.
Since early childhood, the people of Sol Cluster are taught many lessons with myths as severe as this one, so it's natural that they would end up viewing this one as a moral precept as well.
However, how would the people of Sol Ciel, with their poetic way of expressing emotions, react to this? To the people of Sol Ciel, "love and emotions are everything", so they were completely unable to sympathize with this myth due to having elements like "the king who sacrificed his own daughter to show the devotion of his country to the Gods".
It could be said that the myths that are rooted in each region are in many ways based on the reality that was lived in them, such as the particular natural features and culture of each of them. With that point of view, maybe you should try to reinterpret this myth, and maybe you will be able to see new facts about the culture of Sol Cluster.
